WHAT TO SEE AND WHAT TO DO

The Tanat Valley and surrounding area is a perfect place to relax. Outdoor activities available nearby include fishing, bird watching and cycling, and for the more energetic and adventurous, canoeing, abseiling and horse riding. The Berwyn mountain range, just up the road, attracts walkers of all abilities from across the UK. For golf lovers Welshpool, Llanymynech and Oswestry golf clubs are all less than 30 mins away. If you like getting wet then Bala lake is only 30 minutes drive for sailing and windsurfing, as is the National White Water Centre for canoeing and rafting.

Some of Mid-Wales’ best known visitor attractions are within easy reach, including Powis Castle with it’s famous gardens, Llanrhaeadr Waterfall and The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway, one of the “Great Little Trains of Wales”. Nearby Lake Vyrnwy – considered by some to be the most beautiful lake in Wales, is an RSPB nature reserve with bird hides, a shop and visitor centre. It was also home to a series of BBC Springwatch.

For something more relaxed try shopping and eating in pretty market towns of Oswestry and Welshpool, both of which have a good selection of interesting independent shops, pubs, restaurants, and many coffee shops. We’re sure that whatever your interests (and whatever the weather !) you’ll always find something new and interesting to do at Pentre Ucha Caravan Park.
